The U15 and U17 provincial teams win 2015 Canadian Basketball National Championships

The U15 and U17 Girls’ Provincial Teams earned the gold medal at the 2015 Canadian Basketball National Championships in Edmonton, Alberta.

“We are incredibly proud of these young ladies,” said Christa Eniojukan, Head Coach, U15 Team Ontario Girls. “They have worked extremely hard over the last few months growing as individuals and as a team. It was an honour to represent Ontario and bring home the Gold.”

“What a tremendous summer for women’s basketball in Ontario,” said Lindsay Walsh, Director of Basketball Development. “This is a tremendous accomplishment for our high performance coaches and athletes.”

SBA is very pleased to congratulate three of its members.

Two of these fine athletes, Kylee-Anne O’Hara and Keishana Washington, play basketball for Team Breedy (Coach Brian Breedy). This team won GOLD in the 2015 Provincials for U15 Girls, Division 1. Did I mention that they were undefeated during the regular season (30 wins, 0 loses) playing up an age group?

Keishana Washington also was selected to the First Team All Stars.

SBA is also very pleased to congratulate one of its U19 members.  Shaina Pellington. This fine athlete plays basketball for Shaina Pellington (Coach Joel Woodburn).  Shaina is one of the youngest players on this team and was able to compete on the OBA U17 Girls’ team.  She also came from Gold stock! Her SBA team won GOLD in the 2015 Provincials for U19 Girls, Division 1.

Congratulations girls!  SBA salutes you.
